Royals Lose: -
JV Soccer posts a W at home, defeating Hopkinton 2-1. The 2 teams were very evenly matched. Play in both halves was back-and-forth with strong offensive pushes from each team, met by even stronger defensive strongholds in front of the nets. Goalies for both teams were outstanding. The Royals were down 1-0 at half, but battled back to tie the game in the second half off of Gabe Sperry's foot from the right side. Sperry's goal sparked the team to dig deeper and push harder, netting a second goal with a rocket shot from sophomore Dylan Pelton. Hopkinton pulled their goalie from net in an attempt to out-man the Mascoma defense, but to no a avail. The Royals managed to defend the lead to take down Hopkinton bringing their overall record to 5-1-1. The Royals play Stevens in Claremont on Friday afternoon
