Royals Stymied By Newport, Lose 11-1
Thursday was a long day for Royals, falling to Newport 11-1.
Newport scored four runs in the fourth inning. Tony, Daniel, and JT all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Davin got the win for Newport. He lasted five innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out two.
Michael Evans took the loss for Royals. He allowed six hits and five runs over three innings, striking out five.
Devin Tetreault, Caleb McAlister, Garrett Davis, and Josh Evans each managed one hit to lead Royals. Royals didn't commit a single error in the field. Logan Briand had the most chances in the field with seven.
Newport racked up 11 hits in the game. Cole, JT, and Tony all managed multiple hits for Newport. Cole led Newport with three hits in four at bats. Newport stole 14 bases during the game as four players stole more than one. Tanner led the way with four. Newport didn't commit a single error in the field. Daniel had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
