Early Lead For Winnisquam Seals Fate For Royals

Royals watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 12-2 loss to Winnisquam on Monday. Winnisquam took the lead on a double in the first inning.

The Royals struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Winnisquam, giving up 12 runs.

Winnisquam got on the board in the first inning. Nicholas doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs.

Winnisquam scored five runs in the sixth inning. Winnisquam's big inning was driven by singles by Mango and Fierenne, a walk by Nicholas, and a groundout by Partride.

Allard got the win for Winnisquam. He surrendered two runs on three hits over six innings, striking out ten.

Devin Tetreault took the loss for Royals. He surrendered seven runs on nine hits over five innings, striking out ten.

Josh Evans, Michael Evans, and Adidas Murphy each managed one hit to lead Royals.

Winnisquam totaled 14 hits. Nicholas, McKinnon, Mango, Allard, and Beaulien each collected multiple hits for Winnisquam. Winnisquam stole ten bases during the game as two players stole more than one. McKinnon led the way with three. Winnisquam didn't commit a single error in the field. Gentile had the most chances in the field with nine.
