Early Lead For Laconia Seals Fate For Royals

Royals watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 14-1 loss to Laconia on Wednesday. Laconia scored on a walk by Poliquin, a walk by Ellsworth, and a single by Ortiz in the first inning.

The Royals struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Laconia, giving up 14 runs.

Laconia fired up the offense in the first inning. Poliquin drew a walk, scoring one run.

Laconia scored six runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Laconia was led by Haynes, Richter, and Poliquin, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Haynes earned the win for Laconia. He lasted five innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out seven and walking zero.

Logan Briand took the loss for Royals. He surrendered eight runs on seven hits over three and two-thirds innings.
