The Royals turned in a strong performance from start to finish to gain their first win of the season in OT vs Newport 1-0. Offensively, it was a tough fought game between the two teams but defensively the Royals were stronger. The Royals had a chance at an offensive advantage when they were awarded a penalty stroke in the first period, but were unable to capitalize.  Being down two starters due to injuries we pulled up Taylor Crate, Paige Jette and Sophia Gusciwicz to fill in,  and they did an amazing job.     Going into OT Michaela Dowd intercepted a pass from Kendall Hamilton of Newport.  Dowd passed the ball to Nicole Williams who inturn dished it off coming up field  to Katie Pushee. Katie went one on one with the goalie. pulling it to her right making her off balance and sent the ball past  Stacia Dame in to the  Newport cage.  An exciting game and amazing effort by each individual of the team.

The Royals head to Gilford on Wednesday.
