Michael Evans was bad news for opposing pitchers on Wednesday, driving in four on two hits to lead Royals past Franklin 16-6 on Wednesday. Evans drove in runs on a double in the second, a walk in the fourth, and a double in the fifth.
Bats blistered as Royals collected nine hits and Franklin tallied five in the high-scoring game.
In the first inning, Franklin got their offense started when Laramie homered on a 0-2 count, scoring three runs.
Royals pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Caleb McAlisterdrew a walk, scoring one run and Evans doubled on a 3-0 count, scoring three runs.
Royals notched six runs in the fifth inning. Royals offense in the inning was led by Logan Briandand Evans, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Devin Tetreault earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Royals. He lasted five and a third innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out 15. Josh Evans threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Thurber took the loss for Franklin. He went three innings, allowing ten runs on seven hits and striking out four.
Graves started the game for Franklin. He went two innings, allowing six runs on two hits and striking out three
Royals totaled nine hits. Evans, Evans, and Bryan Lowell each had multiple hits for Royals.Lowell, Evans, and Evans each managed two hits to lead Royals. Royals didn't commit a single error in the field. Evans had 13 chances in the field, the most on the team.
Laramie led Franklin with two hits in two at bats.
